On the same day he issued an order awarding Google some $4m in expert witness fees and other costs, Judge Alsup denied Google's motion for a new trial and JMOL, and in doing so took "this opportunity to state that it will take no further action regarding teh subject of payments by the litigants to commentators and journalists and reassures both sides that no commentary has in any way influenced the Court's orders and rulings herein save and except for any treatise or article expressly cited in an order or ruling."
