Patent Attorney – Law Firm – Detroit, Mich.

Cantor Colburn LLP, one of the largest full-service intellectual property law firms in the country, seeks a patent associate attorney with a degree in computer science or electrical engineering to work in the firm’s Troy office, outside of Detroit.

The associate will be responsible for drafting and globally prosecuting patent applications in the computer science and electrical arts, as well as occasionally preparing invalidity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses.

The successful candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering.  Applicants must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, have two-to-five years of patent drafting experience in a law firm, have drafted more than 20 patent applications, and have domestic and international prosecution experience.   Candidates must also have excellent academic credentials and strong writing skills.  Competitive salary and benefits package.
