IP Patent Attorney (Electrical / Computer; Clearance Experienced) – Law Firm – Multiple Locations

michael-bestMichael Best & Friedrich LLP is seeking a Patent Attorney (Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science) to join our Milwaukee, Madison, Waukesha, or Chicago office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include counseling clients on the enforcement of their rights and the avoidance of their competitor’s rights, preparing non-infringement and invalidity opinion letters, and counseling clients on designing around competitor’s patents.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

Preferred candidates have experience with some or all of motor design and control, control systems, power tools or other motorized consumer products, wireless technology, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Admission to the Patent Bar and 7+ years of patent prosecution and clearance experience strongly preferred.

Senior Associates and Senior Counsels are encouraged to apply.

The candidate must excel in a team environment and be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent business judgment, outstanding written communication skills, and the flexibility to thrive (and have fun!) in a fast-paced professional environment.
