Patent Attorney (Biotechnology) – Law Firm – New Zealand

Fellows and Associates (on behalf of our client, a major NZ firm), is seeking a biotechnology patent attorney to work in New Zealand.

The only way to feed this is via new hires and the firm are quite keen on the idea of looking internationally to find suitable candidates. They’re very supportive and will make the transition to a new jurisdiction as smooth as possible with plenty of advice and financial help on offer. The firm are particularly keen on candidates who are European, UK and/or US Patent Attorneys although other jurisdictions may be considered. Candidates should have an academic/technical background in biotechnology.

The role itself is broad and you will enjoy a mix of providing commercial IP advice to clients and well as drafting and prosecution. You will have the deftness of touch to deal with large patent portfolios with accuracy and diplomacy as well as providing assistance with contentious matters. In addition to all of this, you will be comfortable representing the firm online, at events and when meeting potential clients.
