What you’ll do:
The position will report to the Vice President, General Counsel. This role will drive IP strategy, inventor engagement, IP Council leadership. This role will support engineering, business units and cross-functional stakeholders on a global basis. This role is intended for a strong leader with a focus on strategic direction, program leadership and people engagement. This role is based on site in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and travel to global locations will be required from time to time.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Execute & manage IP strategy in partnership with Legal, engineering, and business units
- Engage and collaborate throughout the organization to drive innovation, and patent coverage
- Lead evaluation of patent landscape across industries and product lines
- Oversee IP Council agenda, including patent disclosure
- Lead external law firm partners with long-term company relationships, and coordinate internal IP support team (partially allocated roles)
- Provide robust training, workshops and robust reporting using Anaqua system
- Support of IP litigation and mergers & acquisitions topics from time to time
- Preparation and negotiation of IP terms in commercial agreements
- Oversight of trade secrets and copyright matters
What you’ll bring:
- 10+ years of IP legal experience
- Experience in semiconductor equipment technology or similar technologies
- Strong communication skills / presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Anaqua or patent filing systems, Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Data driven mind-set, KPI’s, metrics
- Positive and proactive approach with strong organization skills, cross-functional leadership
- Focus on program and people leadership
