Aspen Aerogels, Inc. 
is seeking a Patent Agent/Attorney who will be an integral member of the legal team, which is responsible for the identification and implementation of optimum Intellectual Property strategies for the Company. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and articulate patent opportunities in a complex technical environment.
Major Duties:
• Identify and articulate IP opportunities in the Company’s R&D, Process and Product Development and other business functions, and assist in implementing the IP strategy
• Perform prior art searches, articulate patentability, prepare, file and prosecute patent applications at the USPTO
• Manage foreign patent procurement activities
• Use patent/trademark databases to assist the IP work flow
Skills/Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences (preferably chemistry)
(Masters Degree is a plus, but not required)
• A JD from a recognized US law school and a State bar admission (for the Attorney)
• USPTO registration is required.
• A minimum of 3+ years of patent procurement experience
