All Turtles Corporation is seeking a Patent Engineer to work remotely. This role focuses on technical drafting and invention description. It does not involve prior art searching, patentability analysis, claim drafting, or legal decision-making.
Core Responsibilities:
Technical Drafting: Prepare comprehensive “Detailed Description,” “Background,” and “Summary” sections for utility patent applications based on client invention disclosures.
Illustration: Conceptualize and create patent-ready figures and provide detailed written descriptions for each.
Technical Assessment: Work under the VP of IP to understand client technologies, decompose systems into functional components, and support identification of candidate embodiments for patent disclosure.
Technology Familiarization: Review client products, documentation, and publicly available materials to support accurate technical drafting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE, CS, or ME preferred). A BS degree is considered sufficient for this role; advanced degrees are not required.
Experience drafting technical documentation; prior exposure to patent specifications or IP-related technical writing is a strong plus.
Strong ability to manage multiple technical subject matters in a fast-paced environment.
High proficiency in technical drawing tools, exportable to MS Office applications.
