All Turtles Corporation is seeking a remote Patent Engineer to specialize in technical drafting and the preparation of invention disclosures. This role focuses on the technical "front end" of
the IP process, spanning from the client's IP assessment to a provisional patent application. It does not involve prior art searching, patentability analysis, claim drafting, or legal decision-
making.
Core Responsibilities:
Technical Assessment: Work under the VP of IP to understand client technologies and identify viable invention candidates.
Invention Disclosure: Prepare invention outlines and formal disclosures for client reviews.
Technology Familiarization: Review client products, internal documentation, and public facing materials to ensure technical accuracy.
Technical Drafting: Draft consistent, detailed “Background” and “Summary” sections for provisional patent applications.
Illustration: Conceptualize and create patent-ready figures with descriptive annotations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE, CS, or ME preferred). Advanced degrees are not required.
Demonstrated experience drafting technical documentation. Prior exposure to patent specifications or IP-related technical writing is a significant plus.
Strong ability to juggle multiple, diverse technical subject matters in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a creative environment with significant autonomy and the ability to set priorities.
High proficiency in technical drawing tools, exportable to MS Office applications.
