
Responsibilities:
• Work with internal attorneys and patent agents and with outside counsel in preparation and prosecution patent applications
• Analyze invention disclosures and publication disclosure requests and devise strategies for patent protection
• Evaluate patent portfolios of third parties as part of continuous monitoring process and for due diligence projects
• Attend scientific project team meetings to collect information for patenting and to advise team on patenting issues
Requirements:
• At least 2 years practicing patent prosecution before the USPTO.
• High level of professionalism and motivation and ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with rapidly changing priorities.
• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills (especially experience with databases)
• Ability to perform detailed technical and legal analysis
Supervision:
Attorney guidance, with much independence on basic prosecution and patent analysis
Education:
Ph.D. or Masters with at least 3 years bench research experience in a biotechnological field
