The U.S. Department of Energy Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property is seeking a patent attorney to perform advanced legal functions to assure proper intellectual property protection under DOE programs; provide legal counsel on research, technology and economic security (RTES) activities including export controls to further the Department's mission of advancing the national, economic, and energy security of the United States; analyze claims against the Government; perform litigation, contracts negotiation, and regulation drafting; and be responsible for all stages of prosecution activities directed to protecting the Government's interest in intellectual property, both domestically and world-wide.
Academic and Professional Qualifications Summary:
- J.D. degree; admitted to a state bar and in good standing
- Registered and in good standing to practice before the USPTO
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technological, or engineering field
