Intellectual Property Patent Associate or Patent Agent – Law Firm – Atlanta, Georgia

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking a Patent Associate or Patent Agent with 2-4 years of experience to work with the Intellectual Property practice group in the Atlanta office. We are looking to add a team member with a strong background in patent prosecution.

Additionally, the attorney or agent will have extensive interaction with a variety of clients including universities, start-ups, and other companies, to help protect their innovations.

We are seeking candidates who possess:

  • Two to four years of experience in patent prosecution and USPTO registration.
  • A masters or PhD in organic chemistry, and an ability to understand technologies related to synthetic chemistry and polymer chemistry.
  • Skills and knowledge related to preparing patent applications for submission to the USPTO and responding to office actions from the USPTO and other patent offices.
  • Experience with patent freedom to operate and patent litigation (preferred, although not required)
  • Strong academic records, developed analytical skills, and impressive communication abilities.
  • A detail-oriented approach, the ability to assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice, a collaborative outlook, and confidence.
