ArentFox Schiff LLP is seeking a mid- to senior-level patent litigation associate or staff attorney with at least 5 years of experience to join our San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across the lifecycle of complex patent disputes, including trials, motion practice, fact and expert discovery (including expert reports), and discovery management. Experience before the PTAB and the ITC is preferred.
In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative, market-leading IP litigation team on matters in federal district courts, the ITC and before the PTAB. Responsibilities will include drafting pleadings and dispositive and non dispositive motions; preparing and responding to discovery; taking and defending depositions; managing experts; preparing for and participating in hearings, and trial; and supporting case strategy and client communications.
Candidates should have a J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials; admission to and good standing with the California Bar; and an undergraduate degree in a scientific or engineering discipline. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; impeccable attention to detail; sound judgment; and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast paced environment are essential. Experience with federal court practice, claim construction briefing, infringement and invalidity contentions, summary judgment, and expert discovery is strongly preferred.

The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $160,000 to a maximum of $355,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, position type, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
