COMPANY PROFILE: Intrexon Corporation is an advanced biotechnology company whose gene-based tools help researchers modulate and characterize specific protein-protein interactions in predetermined subcellular locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include the following:

Manage current staff of four patent agents and one paralegal, including assigning work, creating deadlines, tracking progress of patent filings, tracking progress of freedom to operate searches, monitoring bottlenecks, distributing work per available staff capacity.

Advise on questions of patentability and patent prosecution procedure.

Mentor new patent agents.

Provide patent prosecution backup for IP team members.

Registration to practice before the USPTO

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and maintain a high quality work product

Strong people skills, strong management skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills
EDUCATION: Minimum education requirements include:

Advanced Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology or other relevant scientific discipline
