Patent Paralegal – Other – Charlottesville, Va.

The University of Virginia Licensing & Ventures Group The University of Virginia Licensing & Ventures Groupis seeking a patent paralegal. The patent paralegal supports two patent attorneys and a licensing staff by maintaining the patent docket, preparing and filing patent applications and associated documents and forms, corresponding with inventors and licensees, and responding to inquiries and requests regarding the docket and status of patent applications. The successful candidate will have patent experience, preferably U.S. and PCT/foreign; at least a high school diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred); a paralegal certificate or equivalent experience; the ability to process computer data and generate reports; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent attention to detail; and the ability to meet deadlines and manage a diverse workload.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package includes health and dental coverage and regular retirement contributions.
