is seeking a professional full-time Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to learn, and an ongoing interest in technology and innovation to join our small, dynamic law firm. Candidates must have a background in Mechanical Engineering/Materials or Physics, 1-5 years of IP experience, and be registered with the USPTO. This position is located in Denver, CO.
Under the supervision of the President and Senior IP Attorneys, the Intellectual Property Associate Attorney will contribute to successful daily operations by assisting with patent applications, patent portfolios, invention disclosures, and client interaction. Specific duties include the following:
- Draft, prepare, submit, and prosecute patent applications;
- Manage, review, and troubleshoot patent portfolios;
- Assist with obtaining and evaluating invention disclosures;
- Assess inventions;
- Interact with the USPTO;
- Interact with clients and provide patent counseling;
- Help maintain patent databases and electronic files;
- Be prepared to conduct client invention disclosure meetings and to counsel clients on various aspects of patentability of an invention with little or no supervision within one year of hire.
