New River Valley Intellectual Property Law, PC is seeking an experienced intellectual property attorney to join its rapidly growing IP law practice, based in beautiful Blacksburg, Virginia. Work will include domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, patent portfolio management, trademark prosecution, licensing and transactional work, infringement and invalidity investigations and opinions, and client in-take and counseling.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have 3+ years experience in U.S. patent prosecution, with the particular requirement of having drafted 15+ patent applications over the last three years. Additional experience in foreign prosecution, electronic filing, trademark prosecution, due diligence, opinion work, licensing, and patent searching is highly desired.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required. The desire and ability to work across multiple scientific disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Life Science, Semiconductors, Business Methods, and/or Medical Devices, is preferred. The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detail are a must. Strong candidates will exhibit solid writing and analytical skills and will possess the ability to quickly understand technical subject matter presented in any form, including visual, verbal, and written.
Admission to the Virginia Bar is required.
Registration with the USPTO is required.
