The Wilmington, Delaware, office of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP is in search of a full-time Patent Attorney, Patent Agent or prior USPTO Patent Examiner with specific expertise in Chemistry and/or Organic Chemistry to work in the Patent Practice of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. Responsibilities include prosecuting patent applications directed to chemical processes and compounds.
Candidates must have at least an M.S. degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry, OR a Bachelor’s degree with significant organic chemistry experience in a corporation or laboratory; a strong technical understanding of the issues of formulations/organic chemistry; plus 3 to 5 years of prosecution experience. The successful candidate also will have excellent writing skills. Prior U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) work experience, while not required, is highly preferred.
