Turner Boyd is looking to add a junior or mid-level associate to our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of experience in IP litigation, particularly patent litigation. She or he will have a strong technical background — by which we mean someone who either has a technical degree, or can demonstrate that they really “get” technology. Excellent legal research and writing skills, superior analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence are a must. Our compensation is competitive with peer firms, commensurate with our lower billable hour expectations.
Turner Boyd is an intellectual property litigation boutique built around a simply stated goal: to provide the expertise and quality of a large firm with the personalized service and value of a small firm. We have been selected by our peers and the SuperLawyers publication as the Top Small IP Litigation Firm in California for two years running.
We are smart and passionate advocates. But we believe that billing 2000 or more hours a year doesn’t serve the interests of our clients or ourselves. And we believe that we cannot be excellent lawyers without valuing our lives outside the office, our families, and our friendships. Instead, we litigate with focus, efficiency, and creativity; with our clients’ business needs firmly in mind; and with well-cultivated senses of proportion and humor.
Turner Boyd associates get the kinds of experience, responsibilities, and opportunities that firms typically restrict to senior attorneys. Instead of helping partners prepare for oral arguments and depositions, they are preparing to do them. Our clients recognize their voices and faces, not just their names on the bill. And they are not just part of a team — sometimes, they’ve been known to lead it.
