ITOH International Patent Office has been delivering the best possible intellectual property services to our clients since 1967. We are seeking a licensed U.S. patent attorney with experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO. The candidate will be located, full-time, in our Tokyo office.
The attorney in this position will be responsible for:
1) Reviewing patent specifications and responses;
2) Analysing Office Actions and drafting responses in English;
3) Writing opinions regarding infringement and invalidations, etc.;
4) Filing new U.S. applications, both Paris and PCT route, using an EFS certificate;
5) Filing responses to Office Actions prepared by others using an EFS certificate.
Requirements
Must be registered with a state bar and the USPTO. Must possess Bachelor’s Degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or other related discipline). Industry experience in those fields a plus, but not necessary. Preferably with at least 5 years of experience as a patent attorney or patent examiner.
