IP Counsel/Patent Attorney – Large Corporation – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Updated)

SABICTo help support its ongoing growth, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (“SABIC”) is seeking additional IP Counsel/IP Attorneys for its continuously growing IP team in Riyadh. SABIC’s global legal function already boasts about 190  legal professionals worldwide. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the Lead IP Counsel, KSA, Middle East & Africa and the Manufacturing and Technology & Innovation teams in developing and implementing IP strategy, providing legal and IP counseling and contract support to enhance the value of SABIC technology.  This will include advising on, drafting and negotiating IP agreements and patent portfolio management, patent preparation, prosecution and maintenance, patent litigation and IP due diligence.

SABIC will consider IP counsel/Patent Attorneys with admission to a recognized patent bar (USPTO, European Patent Office, etc.). Both a technical degree and a law degree are essential. Candidates with a chemistry or chemical engineering degree are strongly preferred.  Legal experience from the US, UK or Europe is preferred.  These roles provide ambitious lawyers with a superb opportunity to work as part of a world class legal team in Saudi Arabia and globally with outstanding lawyers across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
