Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, a large law firm, is seeking a semiconductor associate attorney, patent agent, or technical specialist to work in their Washington, DC offices.

Join our Electronics Group and bring your current scientific expertise to bear on the legal problems and matters of our clients. Our Patent Agents and Technical Specialists work on matters involving cutting-edge technologies and legal issues demanded by a broad range of innovative individuals and companies. Our firm is among the first to see the newest developments in a number of technological areas, including: blockchain, bioinformatics, robotics, aeronautics, wireless communications, semiconductors, nanotechnology, optics, lasers and LEDs, software and apps, networking, computer security, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, among other things. As a Patent Agent or Technical Specialist at Sterne Kessler, you will be involved with a wide variety of work, including: patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, strategic analysis, client counseling, and opinion work.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics, with a concentration in semiconductor fabrication, memory design, and/or integrated circuit design
  • Semiconductor industry experience, preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
