InVue is drive the growth of InVue’s IP portfolio and support the Chief IP Counsel in a variety of IP-related tasks. Your mission is to protect InVue's IP and ensure that InVue has the freedom-to-practice its own products. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with InVue's innovation and engineering teams throughout the product development process.
Responsibilities
- Provide complex, substantive, and organizational IP support
- Cooperate with innovation and engineering teams to identify and foster IP protection
- Coordinate and assist with IP review meetings
- Prepare drafts of patent applications and documents related to patent applications
- File patent applications and supporting documentation with the USPTO
- Conduct freedom-to-operate and patentability searches
- Analyze and respond to office actions from the USPTO and foreign offices
- Organize, maintain, and update electronic files and docketing system
- Assist Chief IP Counsel in filing and prosecuting trademark applications
- Assist Chief IP Counsel in patent litigation matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science required
- Current USPTO registration required
- 5+ years of experience as a patent agent in a law firm or corporation
- Sufficient experience with electrical/mechanical device patents
- Proficiency with U.S. Patent Office Electronic Business Center systems (EFS Web and PAIR)
- Understanding of U.S. and foreign patent laws
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and driven personality
