Scheinberg & Associates, PC is a three attorney firm providing quality legal services related to the protection of intellectual property. Based in beautiful Austin, TX, we represent large and small clients throughout the United States. The majority of our practice is directed at preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. We are looking for a senior associate or partner level attorney to help with our current work load and to help us expand.
We provide an informal work environment but insist on the highest standards in our work product. We work in diverse areas of microscopy products, nano technology, and mechanical systems. We believe that our relatively small size allows us to provide a more personal service to the client and inventors. As part of our team you will be working with a diverse group of clients and staff with a closer relationship than the typical large firm. We strive to provide real value to the client to earn our fees.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ or Advanced degree in Physics, Chemistry or Engineering a plus. (A broad scientific background with the willingness and ability to learn new technologies rapidly are more important to us than the field of your degree.)
- Must be registered and in good standing with the USPTO.
- 3+ years of IP law with a substantial patent preparation and prosecution experience.
- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
- The ability to identify and clearly explain differences between an invention and prior art.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with U.S. and Foreign filing requirements.
- Experience as an Examiner at the USPTO, a plus.
- Excellent client management skills.
- Preferably located within the central Texas Area.
