Patent Paralegal – Small Corporation – Dayton, OH

Global Graphene Group, a small corporation, is seeking a Patent Paralegal to work in Dayton, OH. The Patent Paralegal will be responsible for patent prosecution and will use the PTO's EFS system, including preparing and filing patent applications and related documents as well as all other documents typically filed in the life cycle of a patent. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting high-volume in-house patent prosecution
  • Electronically filing patent applications and prosecution documents
  • Checking and revising patent applications as needed
  • Send/receive correspondence from outside counsel
  • Develop and implement patent portfolio management processes
  • Drive docket deadline compliance
  • Create relationships with clients, attorneys, and team members to be a proactive partner and drive engagement

The ideal candidate will have flexibility, a positive attitude, and an exceptional work ethic. Additional requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Patent Paralegal certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in global IP matters and patent prosecution management
  • Experience managing a large, complex patent docket and legal matters globally
  • Experience with patent docking software, particularly AppColl
  • Proficient use of patent searching databases
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to resolve complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work fast and with a very high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
