Best of luck to you, but if you are hired, for the love of all that is holy do not become an “RCE troll examiner”!!!1

Generally speaking I don’t find their relative ignorance of the art all that bad when I’m helping them with a case as EE’s I know are sometimes just as ignorant.

Well that just about sums it up. I’m sure the powers that be are tremendously pleased to have you speaking for the PTO.

“It gets better. Maybe “Rodya” is an attorney and hasn’t notified OED of the change in status. ”

Um, in which case he’s in violation of the notification requirements and Director Moatz downchecked his app?

“Have you been spoon fed all your life?”

    I like sporks.

Meh, they take ChE’s for the EE positions. Several of my buddies are ChE’s and they work in EE arts. To this day I don’t understand why the office would hire thus but whatev floats their boat. Generally speaking I don’t find their relative ignorance of the art all that bad when I’m helping them with a case as EE’s I know are sometimes just as ignorant.

    No.

But the mere fact that you have supplied numerous reasons and Rhoda’s post was, well, well vacuous on the point is a clue.

Still, why does having the J.D. but not being admitted to a state bar matter for a job where that is not a requirement?

Furthermore, there are many justifiable reasons why “Rodya” may not be admitted to a state bar at this juncture. For example, maybe “Rodya” graduated in December from law school and opted to not sit for a february exam to allow for additional preparation time. Or perhaps “Rodya” sat for the bar and hasn’t received the results yet. Perhaps “Rodya” took the bar, received the results, but has not yet sworn in.

It gets better. Maybe “Rodya” is an attorney and hasn’t notified OED of the change in status. Maybe “Rodya” did notify OED and OED has taken their time in processing the change.

The list of reasons why “Rodya” may have a J.D. and not be a Patent Attorney are profoundly numerous.

Is this the cloudy thinking you were referring to?

    Your thinking is cloudy.

I could have easily taken a jab without the A – The dichotomy.

Have you been spoon fed all your life?

As being admitted to a state bar is not a requirement for being a Patent Examiner, what was your assertion premised upon if it wasnt premised upon assumptions?

I don’t think you had a point (or a “clue” for that matter) beyond trying to take a jab at “Rodya.”

  10. 9

My assertion was premised on no assumptions.

I will not hold your hand. Be a big boy and think yourself through this.

  11. 8

A certain degree of hand holding is necessary to understand what assumptions your assertion was premised upon.

    Please elaborate.

  12. 7

    Why is not “The” clue?

I am not going to hold your hand through the mental exercise.

  13. 5

Sure, but such is a clue. And please note the subtlety of such being not The clue.

A person can both have a J.D. and not be an Attorney.

One must be an Attorney in order to be a Patent Attorney.

“qualified for entry level examiner” OR “not qualified for the open positions, which are primarily in electrical & computer areas?” I don’t think the PTO has too many ChE examiners.
