That first headline ought to refer to “abandoned patent applications” rather than “expired patents”. I would appreciate someone weighing in on the merits of a case. I would think that someone thinking they got something of value when they bought abandoned patent applications would have about as much of a cause of action as someone buying expired lottery tickets. It’s not as if you can’t see they’re abandoned. Caveat emptor.
