Global Patent Group is a fully integrated patent law firm with a focus on life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. There is no work origination or business development requirement in this position.
We are seeking a patent attorney (Independent Contractor) in the biopharmaceutical space. We will consider candidates for both part-time and full-time positions. We also welcome on-ramp candidates who want to return to the workforce. The position offers competitive compensation, a flexible work schedule, and top-tier organizational resources.
The position requires deep familiarity with cellular and molecular biology, and we prefer an advanced scientific degree in immunology, cellular/molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related field. We also prefer at least 5 years of experience as a registered patent agent/patent attorney in biotech/pharma patent prosecution, with a focus on protein and cellular drug products, e.g., drafting and prosecution of patent applications; searching and analysis for patentability, infringement, and FTO; and IP project management. Strong candidates will have demonstrated scientific expertise, persuasive writing skills, and a deep knowledge of best practices in patent prosecution for drug products. Candidates must be admitted to practice before the USPTO and have current state bar membership. A good fit will have strong client service ethics and professional accountability, the ability to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence, and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
