Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson LLP (WAVS IP) is seeking lateral candidates with at least two 2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution. Applicants should have a solid background in electrical engineering, physics, or computer engineering. We are particularly interested in practitioners with an advanced degree and/or work experience in geometrical and wave optics, optoelectronics, III-V semiconductor devices, display technology, AR/VR, optical materials (e.g., liquid crystal, photopolymer, and crystal), photonic integrated circuits, and semiconductor integrated circuits. We are seeking motivated applicants who want a full-time position and full workload.
You will join an incredible team of attorneys, agents, paralegals, and staff that represents a wide range of clients, including start-ups, large companies, and universities.
Qualification Requirements:
- Eligible to be admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or graduate degree in physics
- At least 2 years of patent attorney or agent experience
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Commitment to patent prosecution
- Knowledge/experience in the following Technical Areas: Machine learning algorithms and neural networks (e.g., FFN, CNN, MLP, RNN, LSTM, etc.). Building and training neural networks a plus. Wireless digital communication, ML/AI, optics, optoelectronics, semiconductor processing, chip/circuit design, and microprocessor architecture.
