Learning IP Theory: Three fairly new books recently arrived in the mail. All would be considered left leaning.
- Property Outlaws: How Squatters, Pirates, and Protesters Improve the Law of Ownership
by Peñalver and Katyal. The book explains benefits of occasional disregard of private property. - The Soul of Creativity: Forging a Moral Rights Law for the United States by Kwall. The book argues that “moral rights” should be part of US copyright law. Although Kwall focuses on the personal experience of authorship, her arguments are difficult (for me) to distinguish from those regarding the personal experience of invention.
- The Future of the Internet–And How to Stop It by Zittrain. The book is about battle over control of the internet or how the internet is increasingly controlled.
