Additon, Higgins, Pendleton & Ashe, 
a boutique intellectual property law firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced technical writer or patent agent to immediately join the firm.
The candidate should have a technical background in software, electronics, controls, and the electro-mechanical arts. At least two years of experience in patent prosecution in a law firm or in-house is preferred as well as excellent communication and time management skills. Industry experience is a plus. The candidate should also have a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. Admission to practice before the USPTO is a plus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing invention disclosures, drafting and assisting in the prosecution of patent applications, and coordinating international patent prosecution. The candidate will work in a team environment, participate in the management of an international patent portfolio, and have significant client involvement.
