A candidate having actual laboratory or manufacturing shop floor experience in addition to being a patent agent or attorney would be preferred.

The ideal candidate has two or more years of experience as an attorney or agent drafting and globally prosecuting patent applications in chemical and materials science. The firm will offer training for candidates with less than two years’ experience and candidates with all experience levels are encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. or Master’s in chemical or materials science is preferred. Knowledge of ceramics, carbon-carbon composites, carbon capture chemistry, graphing chemistry, electrochemistry, battery chemistry, and polymer chemistry, particularly coatings, would be advantageous. U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration as an attorney or agent is required.
